When I heard Hourglass Cosmetics was coming out with a brand new concealer, I got excited!
Although the brand itself is a hit or miss for me (let’s just say that last foundation was a BIG miss), I always am curious about what the brand has to offer to the beauty industry. I feel that they are pretty innovative and are not over saturating their customers with frequent releases. That’s what makes it special!
Full-coverage, crease-resistant, light-reflecting, water-proof liquid concealer that blurs and brightens up to 16 hours! (Sephora.com)
OK, OK. I know. Big claims, right? I thought the same thing too! Now, I would love to look airbrushed, ya know, but no creasing!? Seriously? I feel like any concealer I try creases, regardless of claims.
It is vegan and cruelty-free. It is also “free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances.” Sephora.com
It is $34 USD.
Considering that I am not much of a concealer girl to start with, I didn’t really have high expectations. The last Hourglass foundation launch was a huge pass for me, so I didn’t have the best of luck with the last complexion product.
Crazy enough, this stuff works. I have the shade Fawn, which is a good light neutral color for under my eyes. It sets fast, so you have to work with it quickly.
They have other shades that are more peachy in tone. I really want to try one of those to see if it corrects dark circles, etc. I don’t have a ton of dark circles, so that is why I opted for a lighter concealer shade to try first.
It’s interesting in texture. It dries down to almost a powdery finish. It’s not cakey though, which I personally cannot stand. It feels fresh, not too thick or thin. It definitely is a natural, full coverage.
I don’t use a lot. Just a bit gets me by. I personally really like this one and have enjoyed using it.
Have you tried this new concealer by Hourglass? Curious to hear your thoughts!
Lots of love, Jennifer
