First Impressions – Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer

First impressions over here!

So, let’s first tell you about how I heard about this product.  My Mother told me about how she LOVES this primer!  She NEVER has worn primer in her life and she found the perfect primer for her!

I was totally on board when she told me about it.  It’s supposed to blur while minimize the appearance of pores?  Yes, please!!

I immediately went to the ingredients list.  Why?  Because I know how my skin does with silicone primers.  It doesn’t like it.  Well, at least all of the ones that I have tried don’t mesh with my skin.  It usually makes me break out.

This primer is made with dimethicone, but it also has argan, rosehip and meadowfoam seed oils to nourish and protect the skin.  I thought I would give it a try to see what all the hype was all about. 🙂

Texture and Wear

It feels like velvet.  It’s very nice, and you can 100% tell it is a silicone based primer.  It blends out so perfectly though.  I really like the feel and texture.  It’s also not drying.

I’ve been wearing it for a couple of days under my makeup.  It definitely provides that layer that your foundation can adhere to.  It’s soft and smooth.  I would say it does minimize pores… wrinkles, not so sure.

Does it make your foundation last longer?

I don’t know. That’s a hard one to answer.  I think I need to continue to try it out more to see with different foundations.

Overall first impressions?

Not too bad.  I don’t think it has made me break out, but I definitely want to test it out more.  After a couple of wears, I do think it is good.

Have you heard of this primer or tried it?  I had not heard of it until my Mom tried it, so I was intrigued.  Let me know your thoughts below!

Wishing you all the bright fireflies,

Jennifer
