Mascara Mondays – Physicians Formula Killer Curves Mascara Review

What did I try today?

Physicians Formula Killer Curves Mascara

What it is supposed to do

This mascara is supposed to provide volume, lift, nourish, strengthen, and curl.  Big claims!

It received 3.4/5 stars on  You can find it here for $8.97.  Not a bad price at all!

Physicians Formula Killer Curves Mascara has:

  • Lash-lifting Polymers
  • Volumizing Polymers
  • Nourishing Provitamin B5
  • Strengthening Peptides and Amino Acids (

It also washes off with soap and water and is free from parabens and fragrance

This mascara is also vegan, hypoallergenic, dermatologist approved, and ophthalmologist approved.  Guess what?  It’s good for contact wearers, like me!

The Wand

Awesome wand alert!!!  This is a great wand.  I love hourglass shaped wands.  It reminds me of the Monsieur Big Mascara wand by Lancôme.

The best part about this wand is that it really gets every lash.  I love the effect it gives as it coats and lifts evenly.

Application and Formula

No clumps over here.  This mascara applied well.  It was easy to coat the lashes with the wand.  It did lift and separate.  I do feel as though the lashes definitely had more volume!

The formula is nice to apply.  It’s soft, which I am kind of on the fence about.

Real Life Wear

Let’s continue to talk about the formula, because it affects the wear.  The great thing about soft formulated mascaras is that it is comfortable to wear.  This didn’t irritate my eyes or flake at all.  I found that it didn’t smudge either, which is awesome!

The bad thing about soft formulas?  They don’t last as long.  I was bummed that it didn’t look beautiful all day.  It just loses its lift and volume.  I was trying to explain it on my Instagram stories.

What it really boils down to is that it applies great – looks awesome for a couple of hours, and then its doesn’t live up to the hype you thought it was going to be, making it kind of disappointing…

Physicians Formula Killer Curves Mascara is very easy to remove.  It comes right off with a cleanser.  No eye makeup remover needed for this one!

Overall Thoughts

I was expecting so much more from my initial thoughts!!!!  Ahh… it was ok.  It’s definitely worth another couple of wears, but it was slightly sad to have a very worn look at the end of the day.  But you know what?  It didn’t claim to “wear all day,” so it is hard to judge it on that too…

I think that the rating matches my thoughts.  3.4/5 sounds fair.  I’m definitely going to give it another try.

Have you tried mascaras from Physicians Formula?

Wishing you all the bright fireflies,
