I saw this new mascara on Sephora a couple of weeks ago and thought that this would be a cool mascara to review for my Mascara Monday!
What did I try today?
Milk Makeup’s Kush Mascara in Black. I saw this mascara on Sephora.com, and this is where I purchased my product. It was highly rated (still is) and new. Of course, I was intrigued. I didn’t really read anything more about it (easy sell) and had it shipped to my house.
About
After doing some research on milkmakeup.com and Sephora.com, I found that this mascara is completely Vegan. Some mascaras use beeswax as a binding component for lashes, but this product uses CBD-rich cannabis oil to hydrate and provide volume.
This mascara retails for $24.
What it is supposed to do
The volume also comes from hollow heart-shaped fibers to lengthen and build. It claims to not have fall-out via milkmakeup.com. Big volume is the name of the game for this mascara.
The Wand
I’m obsessed with this wand. I love a good bristle brush that is thick and doesn’t clump. It gets into every lash and I can build, rebuild and build again without a mess. The wand is an A+ for me!
Application and Formula
I applied this in the morning with my regular makeup application and wore it throughout the day (12+ hours). It applied great with no clumping or fall out during application. The formula was thicker (not runny at all) and gave great volume and curl. I applied two coats and that was good for the day.
Real Life Wear
Here’s where it gets a little tricky. It moves. It isn’t bad, but if we are doing a mascara Monday – we have to be real. It does fall below the eyes and flakes. I wouldn’t say its terrible, but you could see where it did come off some during the day. I did reapply it this evening and it was super easy to reapply over already dried mascara. I usually have a hard time reapplying mascara after I’ve worn it for a while. I wouldn’t say this is long-lasting. It’s good, but it does move.
Removal
This mascara is super easy to remove. I removed it with my Jordan Samuel Aftershow Treatment Cleanser and then double cleansed with my IS Clinical Cleanser. It was a breeze to remove.
Overall Thoughts
I’m loving this wand. It is a good mascara. I will need to wear it more to see how it does, but overall, pretty good. If I had to give it a star rating, I would probably give this 4/5 stars. The transfer of the mascara under the eyes was pretty significant, so that was a bummer. Other than that, not too bad!

Wishing you all the bright fireflies,
