First Impressions: Christian Louboutin Lip Colour

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of Holidays!  It was so much fun to spend time with our family and friends during this time.  It is so nice to have time to just be…

I’ve got to tell you, my husband is the best gift giver.  I always say I’m going to someday surprise him and really get him a wonderful gift that he doesn’t know about, but that really hasn’t happened yet. (Men are very hard to buy for… any ideas are welcome!)  He prides himself on his gift giving “skills,” as he calls them, and is always thinking up the best ideas.

Let’s just say that he didn’t disappoint this Christmas.  I was very surprised when I opened a small package that contained a Christian Louboutin lipstick!  Wow, just wow.  I would have never bought this for myself, because really, it’s ridiculously priced.  This pretty little gem is $90! (Shake my head!)  Can I be honest though?  I was very excited that I have my hands on one!!

I opened the box and I kept telling him to return it for a good 24 hours.  He looked up the return policy and we couldn’t return it.  So, I did what anyone else would do.  I broke it open and tried it on!

The reason why I asked him to return it was because I thought the actual color was too light.  It was a gorgeous nude color, but I thought it may wash me out.

Well, all I can say is, “SHAME ON ME!”  The first swipe of this lipstick was PURE bliss.  It is gorgeous on!  The color is called Tutulle Silky Satin (700).  My husband picked the PERFECT color.  He prefers more natural looking colors and this is a great everyday shade.

I also learned that this is formulated without Paraben, Mineral Oil, DEA or Phthalate, which is awesome (curtesy of ChristianLouboutin.com).

This lipstick is so smooth.  It feels incredible.  I would say it definitely is a silky satin, as described.  It is not full coverage, nor sheer; it has a great your lips but better look.

The packaging is cool, but it isn’t very practical.  I’m not going to wear my lipstick as a necklace (just being honest!), but it definitely is very lux, over the top, which I think is what they are going for.  The lipstick is excellent quality… gorgeous, in fact, but you are definitely paying for the name and luxury of Christian Louboutin.

Was this a cool present? Most definitely!!! I am very proud of my husband for picking out my perfect shade online. Maybe one day I will win the gift giving award…

Wishing you all the bright fireflies,

Jennifer
